Brisbane’s housing boom continues through the second quarter 2021

Brisbane’s housing boom continued throughout the second quarter, with home values climbing 2% in the month of May and 1.9% in June, taking the end financial year growth rate to 13.2%. Similarly, the rental market has witnessed the same positive growth trajectory with renters in strong competition and landlords taking advantage of the demand and increasing their rent across the board.

Advertised supply remains well below average and the imbalance between demand and supply has prolonged the upwards pressure on housing prices. With forecast population growth of more than a quarter of a million people in the next four years in the Federal Budget, we do not see demand weakening.

In the face of strong price growth and even stronger competition, our investor and owner occupier clients have been able to rely on our experience and expertise to successfully navigate this unique and challenging market and secure some fantastic properties in Bulimba, West End and Taringa.

I had to sell the family home in Brisbane quickly after my elderly parents moved to a nursing home at very short... notice. I'm an only child and live in another town, so it was very daunting. I decided to use a buyers agent after spending a couple of weekends flying up from Melbourne to look at properties and... quickly realising there are a lot of potential pitfalls in the Brisbane markets for the unwary (flood zones, aspect, overlays etc) and I was not too sure which was the best suburb for me to buy in.I appointed PS Property Advisory and Sue Aspinall in particular to assist in a purchase of a Queenslander to assist in my move from Melbourne to Brisbane after a recommendation from my accountant. Along the way, I received several shortlists so I could look at the properties remotely and provide feedback.In the end the perfect property came on the market, I was away with work at the time and Sue was able to look at the property for me, conduct a FaceTime walk through with me, provide extra pictures, detailed report, organise pest and building reports, research the area and market, make bids on my behalf and in the end secured the property which had multiple offers within days of being not he market. Without Sue I would not be writing this review after being in new house one week later.I cannot recommend Sue and PS Property Advisory enough, the results speak for themselves.read more
